Provide multi-stream recycling, water bottle refill stations, composting services and install LED lighting in global corporate offices.

Limit single-use plastics.

Reduce quantity of printers to lower waste.

Maintain eco-cooling and PUE of 1.14 in European data centers.

Reducing carbon emissions and responsibly disposing of decommissioned equipment

Extending the life of data center hardware helps companies reduce their carbon footprint, unnecessary waste, overspending and more. Deciding to delay a hardware refresh avoids the need to manufacture equipment using raw materials, metals, packaging and transportation, in turn, decreasing the production of CO2.

If a customer undergoes a hardware refresh based on capacity, compatibility and other requirements, our team ensures all decommissioned equipment is disposed following NIST 800-88 standards. The remaining equipment is either refurbished or recycled in a zero-landfill scrap facility.

Using clean energy and sustainable sources, our efficient data centers hold operate with renewable energy and have a power usage effectiveness rate (PUE) of 1.14.

Our Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGO)-certified² data centers save around 2640 tonnes of CO2 each year.³

Building a more sustainable future

We focus on accelerating and developing transformative change to fulfill our environmental commitments. To demonstrate our commitment to protecting critical resources, we’ve pledged to meet net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

To achieve this commitment, we partnered with Pause People Collective, an energy and carbon consultancy, to assess our carbon footprint. Over the past four years, they’ve worked with us to implement a comprehensive carbon reduction plan. This has led us to become certified as carbon neutral, including our European data centers — a significant step toward our goal of net zero.

We’re proud to have achieved a Bronze EcoVadis Sustainability Rating, placing us in the 78th percentile! This recognition highlights our commitment to integrating sustainability throughout our business, from ethical practices and environmental impact to labor and procurement standards.

Service Express Cares is a grassroots-led committee focused on supporting and promoting the wellbeing of the company through initiatives, including giving, volunteering, prompting sustainability, physical and mental health. This internal team works to ensure our people have the information and resources they need to give back to their communities.

Spotlight story

Soon after his birth in 2019, Jayne’s grandson, Oscar, was diagnosed with quadriplegic cerebral palsy. This diagnosis rocketed Jayne’s daughter and son-in-law into a new and unexpected world of hospital stays, medication, appointments, adaptations to their home, medical training, and so much more.

Bedford and District Cerebral Palsy Society (BDCPS) provided Oscar and his family with immense support. From providing counseling for parents to holding regular activities for children, craft groups and other ways to connect.

In 2021, BDCPS hosted a “Smile for a Mile” fundraiser asking participants to walk during the Easter holidays and donate to the organization. Team members came together to raise funds in support of Jayne and her family.
